Camp Young Naturalist Adventure

There's always time for both learning and play at the lake.

 What
Young Naturalist Adventures will spend their time exploring the marvels of nature through the lens of an engineer. Campers can expect activities that challenge them to problem solve, create, design, and work together to develop solutions in an outdoor setting. We will develop team building skills and incorporate STEAM principles throughout the camp.

2017 Camp Themes
Engineering Inspired by Nature
Campers investigate methods in which seeds are dispersed in nature through the story Once Upon a Time in the Woods. The story leads campers to further explore how seeds are dispersed by the wind. Using the designs found in nature, campers develop paper helicopters and parachutes then perform variable testing to improve their performance.

Gravity Car Cruiser (New)
Campers design and construct a vehicle that is powered by gravity. A weighted lever connected to an axel by string rotates on its fulcrum; as the weight descends it causes the axle attached to the string to rotate, propelling the cruiser forward.
